This is our first cooking class where we were able to recycle food donated to us and made fresh soup and a mixture of white and wholemeal rolls. In fact, we were able to make red lentil and potato soups from the fresh produce we got for one of our sponsors. The products from the class, along with assorted food packages, were sent to 12 homes where services users benefited greatly.
Perhaps, the real joy was that we were fortunate to have three things happening on the day:
1. Recycling food
2. Running a cooking class from the food donated
3. Sharing it to residences from the East and Midlothian areas. Thanks to Susan, James, Jamie, Duncan, and Gordon – our volunteers- for making this a memorable first Cook-Inn day of success.
